Pandurango - TV Documentary![]() Michal Dvořák is obsessed with music. The former member of the group Lucie says that music is not just something in itself and has therefore decided to look for its remotest and deepest sources. His search is documented in a series of seven episodes filmed for Czech television. Pandurango – the road to the god of music. Pandurango is one of the reincarnated Krishnas and is the God entrusted to look after music and musicians. The assignment of director was given to David Sísa, Šimona Koudelová and Jakub Sommer. The goal of the expedition was to show Czech viewers the current music scene in the remotest reaches of the world – from the viewpoint of somebody from central Europe, of course. As the guide for the program, Michal Dvořák also performs live with musicians and is not afraid to take the most exotic musical instruments from India, China, Australia and other faraway countries on continents where the musical travelers visit into his hands or in his mouth. The seven half-hour documentaries culminate with an eighth episode – recording the Pandurango concert that took place as part of this year’s Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště with the participation of several musicians who appear in the previous documentaries. - offers viewers and music fans interesting locations in addition to music celebrities - a modern cycle with a very imaginative sound and picture concept - offers a look at other peoples, cultural influences throughout history and today - looks at the current state and development of the ever more popular world music - using music to provide a form of nonverbal communication between people - by no means a musical-ethnological study |
